Crab Spider and its Prey

A crab spider (Misumena vatia) feeding on a fly while blending in with the white morning glory flower it was on. Misumena vatia can change their colors between white and yellow. It takes between 10 to 25 days for them to convert to being yellow in color, while taking around 6 days to go from yellow to white.
Crab spiders do not make webs, but rather catch their prey using their longer front legs and then administering a poisonous bite which immobilizes their prey almost immediately.
The small insects crawling around on the flower are most likely a species of thrips (Order Thysanoptera).
