Discussing Elizabeth Broderick, male genital mutilation, Brian J. Morris and the Gilgal Society.
✄ Goward and Broderick outraged by doctors talking about ritual nicking of girls:

✄ I haven't heard Goward or Broderick comment on this report, from a month ago:

✄ If you have heard either Goward or Broderick defending boys from male genital mutilation, in light of the above article, then I would certainly like to know about it! It would appear to me that a double standard obtains, and that the Sex Discrimination Commissioner only defends girls. This is discrimination on grounds of gender.
✄ Here is an example of a website taking a medicalised, as well as ritualistic, approach to female genital mutilation:
http://islamqa.info/en/ref/45528
✄ We can take either a medicalised or ritualistic approach to male genital mutilation, too, or both, but it doesn't make it right. If the Sex DIscrimination Commissioner feels that girls should be defended from genital mutilation--either ritualistic or medicalised--then she should, too, surely, be defending boys from genital mutilation--whether ritualistic or medicalised.
✄ To vociferously defend the genital integrity of little girls, but to not do so for the genital integrity of little boys, is discrimination on grounds of gender. The Sex Discrimination Commissioner's job is to defend BOTH genders from genital cutting, not just one gender. Sex Discrimination law is about defending MEN, as well as women!
