The internet is abuzz with the possibility of our first look at the new Spider-Man costume, but is it real or fake? We’re breaking it down right here on Clevver Newsfeed. Today’s episode of Clevver News Feed is brought to you by the new John Green movie, Paper Towns in theaters NOW! Could a photo released from an unconfirmed Twitter account be our first tease of the new Spider-Man costume or just fan speculation? A Twitter account claiming to belong to Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently started posting cryptic photos that many speculate could be close-up shots from production on next year’s highly anticipated sequel. Though most of the photos consist of unidentifiable objects or items that seem to have no significance to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one in particular appears to be fabric from a possible superhero costume and more specifically the new Spider-Man’s costume. Marvel president Kevin Feige previously hinted that the new Spider-Man would wear a costume that looked very different from any of the ones we’ve seen on screen before, but would still feel like classic “Spidey”. This photo has led many to think we could see the new Spider-Man wearing red and black instead of the more traditional red and blue we’ve previously seen, but is this actually a photo of the new Spider-Man suit? The account has kept a rather low profile since being started early this month and is being followed by new Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, but according to fellow Marvel director James Gunn, the account does not actually belong to the Russo Brothers. Gunn was asked if that account was real to which he responded, “It’s not @Marvel Russo Bros; according to Joe they don’t have Twitter nor will they ever.” In another post Gunn went on to clarify tweeting, “In the words of Joe, they are not now and never will be on social media. That’s why I’ve posted stuff for them.” So, unless this is some elaborate prank that the Russo’s are playing on us and possibly James Gunn, it looks like the account is fake and we’ll have to wait a while longer for our first look at the new Spider-Man costume. But what do you think? Are these photos actually from the set of Captain America: Civil War or are they just things someone has sitting around their house? Share your thoughts in the comments or tweet us @ClevverMovies and then click here to find out which official superhero costume reveals are our favorite. Until next time, I’m Erin Robinson, thanks for watching and we’ll see you soon with more movie news right here on Clevver Newsfeed!
