Spider Takes Last Breath…

The last few moments of my spider’s life before she passed away. Cyborg I will miss you so much! This video is probably the most difficult video I have ever made. This Australian 🇦🇺 Giant Banded Huntsman (Holconia Immanus) was my favourite Huntsman in the entire collection of the whole world and we had so many good times that I will never EVER forget. There were some really amazing feeds 🦗🍽 and also other strange things I noticed because her behaviour was so much different to every other huntsman I have kept. She always seemed to have trouble with her spinnerets and I was tearing up inside when she couldn’t web properly to create a sac for her eggs. That is another episode called 'Spider Laying Eggs Gone Wrong'. 🥚 🚫 But it was just the saddest thing yesterday when I saw her. After weeks of not eating or drinking or anything, she came down off her bark and was struggling on her back. I misted the enclosure and watching her very closely and saw that she was going to die. She rolled over and slowly curled up her legs. I am glad we filmed it to share with you guys because I've never seen this before and it looked like she slowly and peacefully fell asleep. not that she closed her eyes or anything... if you want to see what a spider looks like as it slowly dies and passes away.
