Legless Spider - Week 4

Dislike 0 Published on 13 Mar 2011

This is a huntsman spider I found on the floor of our bathroom. It was alive but had EVERY leg removed from its body. I left it there for a few days thinking that it would obviously die as there must have been more damage done to it than just its legs (because lets face it, what pulls of the legs of a spider but doesnt damage the body) but after a few days it was still alive.

That's when I thought I'd try and help it stay alive until (hopefully) its legs grow back.

I never thought I'd ever have a pet, disabled spider before. But now I do. I care for it as I would any pet.

The footage you see is 4 weeks after the days I found it on the bathroom floor.

I feed it flies (horseflies, blowflies, marchflies) and water with sugar mixed in with it. He seems to like all of those.

Still. No legs.
