Our grandson loves to play in the sandbox when he comes to our house. But it finally got to the point where it just wasn't fit for him to be in. It seemed like all kinds of creatures were trying to take it over! When we lifted the lid, insects and spiders were everywhere, along with the occasional disgusting slug. Ants seemed to be the main intruders, and nothing seemed to be able to keep them out. So, we decided we had to either get rid of our bug-infested sandbox altogether, or clean it up and find better ways to keep it as bug-free as possible. We decided to keep it, mainly because of our grandson - he would've really missed it!
In this video, we'll show you how to clean up your sandbox, what kind of sand to put in it, how to keep insects and spiders out, and how to keep it clean and safe going forward. We discuss a few supplies you might need and different procedures to prepare a plastic vs. a wooden sandbox. Our sandbox is doing great, and instead of being a bug-filled mess, it's back to being just good clean fun!
