The spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is considered one of the most adaptable of houseplants and the easiest to grow. This plant can grow in a wide range of conditions and suffers from few problems, other than brown tips. (caused by build up in salts)The spider plant is so named because the baby plants that dangle down look like spiders.. Available in green, green with white stripe, or variegated varieties. These spiderettes often start out as small white flowers.
According to NASA'S clean air study. The spider plant ranks high in filtering Air. It filters formaldehyde, xylene and toluene.
This plant is safe for pets and kids and is very low maintenance, great for people just getting into house plants. Easy to propagate.
