Giant House Spider lays egg sac!

1 week after breeding my smaller Giant House Spider she laid an egg sac in a hide she made out of web and soil inside her enclosure! I was completely shocked at that lengths a giant house spider would go to protect her babies. The eggs were laid in a thick web and suspended from the roof of her enclosure. Then she proceeded to suround the egg sac in soil and finally she wrapped it in another thick layer of webbing and reinforced the strands that it hung from. Amazing spiders.
