How to feed a Corn Snake

Dislike 0 Published on 15 Jun 2015

We were called out for a snake rescue a few days ago, thinking it would probably be a grass snake or even an adder... but no, it was a corn snake! This yellow and orange snake is not a native British species and is normally kept as a pet. It means that this fellow escaped his vivarium and went out for a wander in the neighborhood! As nobody knew where it came from, and the home owners were frightened, we had to bring it back to the centre.

If you have lost your corn snake, you can contact us at mail@wildlifeaid.org.uk, with your name, address and a picture of your snake to make sure its the same individual. Put CORN SNAKE as subject. Please, don't write to us saying that you want to adopt this snake.

Wildlife Aid don't deal with any exotic or domestic species, and we have already found him a home.

One point, not explained properly in the video, and we realised we could have said it better... The jaws don't 'dislocate' as such, but the lower jaws move independently of one another, so they still open wider than normal and yawn or gape to get them back into the original position.
