Carpet Python eating a local cat! With Brisbane Snake Catcher Janne Torkkola. More on http://www.snakeoutbrisbane.com.au
WARNING: MAY BE DISTRESSING FOR CAT ENTHUSIASTS.
On today's morning menu for this wild Carpet Python (Morelia spilota), a roaming south Brisbane neighbourhood cat, apparently from the house next door. Unfortunately by the time we arrived the cat was long gone and being swallowed, so there was little for us to do than wait and watch, after all why waste a good meal and a lot of effort from a native animal which is more often on the receiving end of such action? Also, a great opportunity to see the jaw-dislocating antics of an amazing predator, and a reminder to keep your pets enclosed. Particularly cats, particularly at night! Enjoy :) PS this feeding event took over an hour and the video is accelerated up to 16 times in parts.
