How to safely feed frozen thawed prey to your snake

Sheila is a 7 year old jungle carpet python and is demonstrating how to properly offer a frozen/thawed prey item to a snake. She is eating medium to large frozen/thawed rats. She has a very strong feeding response, so is always handled with a snake hook after touching the prey item while thawing. She is fed only in an empty rubbermaid tub with a locking lid to avoid substrate ingestion. The prey item is handled and offered with long tongs, NOT with fingers.
