Backyard Chickens - Eating a Snake
People often think that chickens just like grass and grains in their diet, and so only feed them that. But that couldn't be further from the truth! Chickens eat meat! And they like it! This is proof.
After the failed attempt to feed them the fish, I wasn't sure how they would handle this. But I think since the snake was still alive and moving, it attracted more attention. Clearly the black headed Ameraucana really liked it! She swallowed it whole! Afterwards she was walking around shaking her head, like she wasn't sure what had just happened. I'm thinking it may have still be wiggling in her stomach. But I bet she slept good last night with a full belly, once it stopped wiggling.
