StrangeTwo-Headed Snake Turns Heads at NY Pet StoreTwo-Headed Snake Turns Heads at NY Pet StoreThe Associated PressAn Amherst, NY store employee noticed a baby snake was having a hard time getting out of its shell. When she cracked open the rest of the egg, she discovered conjoined twin snakes. It's one of the rarest of events in the reptile kingdom. (July 9)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] [Notes:Courtesy WKBW][Notes:Dateline: Amherst, NY]Struggling to come out of its shell ... One **very** rare reptile. It's a two-headed snake ... Just hatched at this Amhurst pet store. And while the store's owner is thrilled about the new additions...She says taking care of these conjoined creatures could prove tricky. [Notes:SOT Diane Dedominicis, Pet Store Owner: "We'll have to be careful feeding them . We'll have to not let them see each other when they're feeding because if they do, they will devour the other snake. So if one snake has a mouse in its mouth ... the other sees it ... will try to get the mouse as well and try to devour it ... and therefore will try to take in the whole other snake."]But the good news is these tiny babies are carmel corn snakes. And will most likely make good pets. That's because corn snakes are considered very docile and don't bite. But any future owners **will** have to take special precautions. That includes tying the two together with surgical tape so they don't try to pull themselves apart ___ ___, The Associated Press.(****END****)
