Trooper Yellow Rat Snake Special Care January 2, 2013

This is a short handling video for our Yellow Rat Snake named Trooper, who is up for adoption.
He has had a rough go in life and requires a little extra gentle and calm handling due to his injuries. He is completely healed, but we imagine that the damaged areas will always be a little sensitive and without that understanding, someone could handle him in a way that could cause him some discomfort or even pain. That is why we did up a little video on how to handle him in a way that keeps him calm and happy :-)
Also, you may notice that he is in a small house, only a 5 gallon tank. There is a reason for this. Due to his now nervous nature he is much more comfortable in a smaller house. However, he does prefer to have a house that he is able to see out of, and know what is going on around him, but still know that his little space is all his. We feel that he would not do well in a racking system.
Thank you, and if anyone is interested in giving him a forever home please let us know. We do not have an adoption price on him as he requires special care and attention. We are asking instead for donations to the refuge. This could be anything for example; tanks, heat pads, lights, hides, dishes, substrate, food etc. even things like polysporin, water conditioner, peroxide or even something that has not been mentioned. Some of our refugees come with health problems and it is always helpful to have an abundance of basic supplies so that we are able to make them comfortable and get them well as soon as possible. Anything that can help us to help some of the refugees that we get in.
We hope you enjoy the video!
