Snake cuddles with rat

A video of how my snake became best friends with his food (seriously), and then refused to eat him.
The other day I went to feed my snake Blaine a rat. I knew something was wrong from the moment I got the rat at the vivarium, and the salesperson held up a rat and said "How about Francisco here?" "Don't make this weird," I said, "I feel bad enough."
Sometimes Ball Python's stop eating for a while, but what was weird was that the rat was completely not afraid of Blaine. He climbed into his little home, curled up with him, took a nap. I took Francisco out every time I wasn't observing them, and put him in a separate cage over night.
After two days Blaine still showed no interest in eating Francisco, so I was preparing to take him back to the vivarium. On the way downstairs I realized that I felt like Francisco earned himself a chance at a happy life, considering he lived with a snake for almost 2 days (on and off) without a trace of fear (perhaps that is what made him unappealing to Blaine?). Also I'm a sucker for happy endings. So I knocked on the door of the family downstairs, and asked them if they wanted a lovely rat that Blaine had no interest in eating. They were overjoyed, and it turns out the little boy downstairs had been wanting a pet of his own.
So now Francisco lives downstairs with the lovely family, and eats way too much fruit and is probably held far too much. And I'm switching Blaine to frozen food.
