Ball Python "Eren" eating his f/t rat pup

Eren is a 2015 Ball Python (normal het pied) hatchling, currently 360 grams before this meal. He's also in shed in this video. The rat is a 55 gram frozen/thawed. I feed my guys every monday right now and they're great eaters.

FYI I know a lot of people don't believe in feeding in a separate tub or really handling snakes at all on feeding day, but sometimes the rats leak or break open (this one almost did) and it's a lot easier to clean this way. I find if I have to wipe guts off the snake it's a lot less handling for them than if I have to clean their whole house and dump all the bedding etc. I handle my snakes a lot and they haven't struck at me or acted aggressively on feed day so far. If they start acting out I may have to change my routine but so far so good! I talk to them a lot before I pick them up and even if I can tell they're hungry they haven't tried to grab me. That said if they seem tense I will talk to them for a couple minutes until they relax and start moving around a bit and I never pick them up from the front. This won't work with all snakes but it works for mine at this point. They're very nice guys. Once they have a full belly I carefully pick them up with one hand on either side of their meal and put them back into their tubbies and then don't handle them for 24-48 hours.
