There was a rat in the kitchen so what I gonna do? I gonna get that rat!

We trapped a rat the other night and instead of throwing it to one of the half-wild dogs in our neighborhood, I decided it would be better buried in the garden. This is just a simple way of returning carrion to the soil. Burying compost materials allows plant roots to reach them later. I planted Seminole pumpkins over the rat and we'll see if those sprout. This is a melon pit, though ideally I would bury and plant more over it. Really, all I did was make a big deal over burying a rat in my garden. Yep. That's it. Let the hate floooooooow! Composting carrion is just too easy.
