Why You Should Avoid Bathing Your Rats. Regular bathing dries out a rats sensitive skin and rats do a really good job of keeping themselves clean. Provide a small bowl of fresh cold water in the cage every day and your rats will use that to keep clean. Most of our rats have never had a bath but they do have water playtime every week.
