Pet Rats

I've had these rats for..a couple months now? maybe 2...or so.. I got them at petsmart. I had gotten 2 baby mice previously..like..a month before. They aren't playful at all. So then i got these lil guys. First rats.

Gordon - is the bigger one, he has a thicker tale, and the honey brown stripe on his back goes all the way to his tale. He is mean to Jaxon most of the time. But they are brothers. He's really curious and is always trying to get into things.

Jaxon - is the smaller one. He's really timid. And hes always getting beat up by Gordon, but he can fend for himself, sometimes.

They enjoy frozen peas. very much.

I made the cage myself. It was an old bookshelf. I cut holes in the shelves so they could crawl through. I had plexi glass all over on the top so they couldn't get out. But then i decided to give them that whole little cubby hole. so now they can run around in there whenever they want. I made two ladders for them to crawl down to the floor with.
I recently put a litter dish thing in the corner. Its just an old tupperware container with newspaper then sand in it. They have actually been using it a lot. I mean there is still poop around their cage but most of it is in that dish. I just set it in there and they used it.

These are pet rats. Bred to be pets. So don't say they are gross and they have diseases and such and such. They are different than just a regular rat that you see outside. They are actually pretty good pets. They are nice, they never bite me. I've gotten a few nibbles here and there in the beginning when they were scared and such. It's not too hard to take care of them. You just gotta clean their cage out and such n such. Otherwise it will stink. Duh.
