Bonding should start as soon as you get your rats settled in their new home, you should also teach your rat their name, they can then start to learn other words such as 'sweetie' or 'stay'. Rats are very intelligent and quick to learn new things. It is best to wait until your rats are over three months old to teach them tricks or agility, with older rescue rats give them a few weeks to settle in their new home. Dont give too many sweets or fatty treats to your rats and make sure they have at least one hour a day out of thir cage. See our other videos for more details on teaching rat agility. Watch out for our new series later this year on Rat Intelligence and Behavior.
