THE PUPS ARE BORN!

Some disclaimers:
-If you have questions about who the parents are and WHY I bred a litter of rats, check out my Rat Breeding playlist.
-Red and I are very bonded; she was totally comfortable with me being close to her during birth; she does not mind me holding the babies.
-I will be taking vids and pics of the babies every day in order to make a montage after they're weaned.
-All the babies will go to great homes (and obviously I'm keeping some)
-Shasta (the dad) won't meet the babies until they're older
-It is healthy and normal for mother rats to eat the placentas and cords of the babies as they're born
-It is normal for a mother rat to bleed during birth
-The tiny cage is temporary as it is being used for birth and nursing; mom and babies will move into a larger enclosure once the babies are mobile.
