Bonding Leroy and Jeannie. Days 3 and 4
Leroy is neutered and Jeannie is spayed.
You should NEVER attempt to bond un-nuetered bunnies! Obviously, you don't want to end up with a litter of bunnies - which WILL happen. Even if it's a same sex pair, the hormones of intact bunnies will make the bunnies very territorial, aggressive, and difficult to bond.
Bonding is a time intensive process. It can take weeks or even months to bond a pair of rabbits. Some rabbits may never bond. If not bonded properly, rabbits will fight and can cause severe injuries.
Grooming on the first few dates is actually unusual. I took Leroy to meet several bunnies before we picked Jeannie. If you are considering getting another bunny, taking your rabbit "dating" at your local shelter allows your bunny to pick his/her friend and will make the bonding process much easier.
