Sarah, a female Great Horned Owl, feeds on what is likely an Eastern Cottontail Rabbit on March 15, 2011 in Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. Notice how she has the rabbit in an iron grip in her left talon like a fork while she tears bites off the carcass and eats them. She ate about a third to half of it. She then flew with the remainder of the prey to her nest to feed her owlets.
