Newborn Rabbit Drinking from the Mother

Dislike 0 Published on 7 Jun 2013

How to feed a baby rabbit | Baby Rabbits | When your rabbit has babies they will only drink from the mother once a day for about 5 minutes. The mother will feed them in the middle of the night. You will hardly see her feed them. Every morning check the baby bunnies bellies to see if they are full. If one or two or more are thinner than the others, take the mother rabbit and gently put her on her back in your lap and put the baby on her belly. The baby will search for her nipples to drink. Hold the baby for a few minutes.
The mother rabbit does not lie on her side like a cat or dog would, she stands over them to feed them. She does not cuddle them, so don't worry if you see her somewhere else far from the babies.
I fed this baby because it was thinner than the other five. All 6 of them are fine and being fed now. This baby was 2 days old in this video. #LoveofPets
