The litter is now 12 days old. The kits are still spending the majority of their time sleeping in the nestbox. They are now also spending sometime grooming themselves.
This is the first day that the average kit weight has decreased compared to the previous day. Average weight of kit is 0.41 pounds today versus 0.49 pounds yesterday. This is also the first day that the average weight of this litter has been exceeded by that of litter AI. As the kits grow, their milk requirements increase. In this case, I believe that the kits are not getting the daily milk intake required to maintain the upward growth trend.
To help inrease the milk production of the doe for this litter, I have begun feeding Manna Pro's Calf Manna to doe SW. She is being fed according to the product instructions which says to feed 1 tablespoon to a pregnant doe. Hopefully this will put her and her litter back on track for record growth.
