Baby Pigs - Piglets Looking for Milk - Sow giving birth - Berkshire Pig Delivering - Baby want milk
I took that video a year ago when visiting a farm in Santa Cruz California. I was looking for a local farmer that could provide our school, ( The International Culinary Center) with some Berkshire Pig which are great for charcuterie. ( the school run a charcuterie program and we want the best for our students) I got lucky since at the time of my visit a Berkshire Sow decided to deliver 13 beautiful piglets. Right away the piglets started looking for milk. Instinctively they find a way to their mother source of milk and start feeding them self.
It was a beautiful day on the hight of Santa Cruz mountain. The farm name is FOGLINE FARM. It is a beautiful place where all kinds of animals are just wondering around.
The farmers sale their products at local markets. You better get there early because they are very popular and their products disappears quickly.
Remember to support your local farmers. Sustainability is the right way to go.
