Homestead Raised Bacon too Lean

Darn! Lean is one thing but this is crazy! One of our friends was worried about raising her pig with leftover milk and scraps because she had heard it would make them fatty. Our heritage breeds are fed the same as this more standard pig and THEY did have more fat than this but even then we did have to grease the pan most of the times. So milk and scraps don't make animals fat! I think it is bad food that can't be digested properly is what give that greasy, nasty version of fat that we get at the store!
