Rosie is the emotional therapy animal for residents who live at Fraser Health's Czorny Alzheimer Centre in Surrey. Pet therapy is well known for being therapeutic, particularly for those in residential care. Some of the benefits include: reducing anxiety, lessening boredom, providing comfort, encouraging communication, and lowering feelings of isolation and alienation. As far as we know, Czorny is the only residential care home in Canada using a micro pig for therapy.
