Dr. Marcia Angell, former editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine and a senior lecturer at Harvard Medical School, spoke to a public health forum at BU School of Public Health on Oct 10, 2012 ahead of a statewide ballot measure to allow physician-assisted dying. Angell told the audience that the ballot initiative is intended as a move toward patient autonomy, not as a substitute for good palliative care.
