Two Wood mice in Winter [Trail cam] | Wild Britain

The Wood mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus), also known as the Long-tailed field mouse is the commonest and most widespread mouse species in Britain (with an estimated pre-breeding population of over 30 million!), and can be found in habitats such as forest edges, woodland, grassland, hedgerows as well as gardens.

Mainly nocturnal, the Wood mouse does not hibernate, and will share nests in the winter - so it was lovely to see two individuals together making the most of the seeds we left down for them!
