Mommy Mouse Talking to Me

My high school was breeding mice to be fed to a snake but it was nearing summertime already so I took the mother and father with me. They spent all summer in my house content and healthy. I was told that if I cared for their lives so very much, all the mice would be saved from the snake (they would just go to a pet store and buy some mice for the snake).

Unfortunately, I had to give the mice back because the summer was over. I grew a special bond with the mother, Midnight, and often give her comfort when she seems stressed out over something. Here is one part of it. She likes to squeak whenever she sees me (not in a terrified or scared way). She'll usually walk right into my hand when I come in. This video was my last time holding her and having to say I love her and her pups~

The next day after I returned, I received a terrible news. The mice have all died, including the mom and dad. They were kept in the greenhouse (because they did not know about the care of mice) and left them in the heat for the whole day. When they returned, all the mice have died from the heat.

I was very grief stricken...I loved these mice. They accompanied me through the summer and now, it is more lonely than ever.

Rest in Peace my lovely mice~
