Transcript: Did you know that baby bearded Dragons can eat over 30 crickets a day? Hey everyone this is Abigail Kessler, Co-Founder of Raising Reptiles. In this video we are going to be going over some basic baby bearded dragon care tips. So first on the menu is feeding. Baby Bearded Dragons grow incredibly fast and so we recommend feeding them as much as they’ll eat within a '10-'15 minute time period at least 2 to 3 times per day. Dubia roaches are far better than crickets. Both will work but one single Dubia roaches has the nutritional equivalent of about 5 crickets. When you're feeding, always make sure to dust properly with either calcium or multi vitamins. So number two. Invest in high quality UVB Lighting. I really cannot stress this enough. UVB is essential for proper bone growth because with the UVB they are going to metabolize all of the different nutrients in their body and so it's vitally important and if you're going to invest in anything invest in proper lighting. Number three, housing. House baby Bearded Dragons in a 20 and 40 gallon enclosure. Never use a 10 gallon as it’s just way too small and you can't achieve the proper basking temperatures with a 10 gallon without roasting the entire thing. Plus if you go with a 40 gallon, the baby isn’t going to be stressed out and you won't have to upgrade in the future. Now, it's always better to give your Dragons more space but a 40 gallon is a totally fine minimum. Number four, Cohabitation. We do not recommend cohabitating bearded Dragons. Yes it's possible but Dragons are solitary animals by nature and I've seen way too many chewed up toes and tails to recommend it. It is just simply not a good idea. Your Dragons will be happier and a lot healthier if they are housed by themselves. Number five, love them and do what's best for them! Don't settle for the bare minimum care. These Dragons are such awesome creatures and really gems of the reptile world. And so learn their personalities, learn how to care for them, learn their different quirks, and what foods they like. Just enjoy them. So you know a bit about what it takes to raise a healthy baby bearded dragon but there are many important factors that you need to know.
