I wanted to make a habitat for my Leopard Geckos that was both natural looking and Display worthy while maximizing space. Trying to be as cost efficient as possible I decided to build it myself. There are many videos online on how to do it yourself, but the one that really caught my attention was http://www.lizard-landscapes.com/ Check out his website. Great ideas and DIY Projects.
I spent about 24 hours between designing and building this. You dont have to be very crafty to do this. All you neeed is a little creativity and dedication. I do encourage you to try it yourself. Be sure to use non-Toxic Supply.
Substrate: I've tried plenty. Reptile Calci-Sand, i began to notice small compaction in some of teh leos. Important to check your Geckos. It was also messy, it got everywhere and there was always lots of dust. Paper Towels Newspaper works great, but spot cleaning take alot more work having to peel through layers. It doesnt look all that great if you are trying to display your Leos. I tried these small seed that worked really well and controlling odors, like sand spot cleaning was a breeze but it was still a mess, and the seeds would constantly sprout up everywhere. Reptile Carpet has worked the best for me. Controls odors very nicely, easy to wash, and leave no mess.
Room is Climate Controled.
I will try to add a Step by Step on how i did mine, when I build the Enclosure.
