Crickets have a tendency of getting out of their containers and HIDING really well! After hiding a while, most likely when you are preparing to sleep, the males begin to chirp really loudly! This has driven me crazy before. So now if you want to keep them contained you can use this method or a variation of it to avoid this headache. Escaped crickets can also pose a threat to your animals though I've never had this problem. Once in the enclosure, they will create waste which is extra waste for you to clean up. This is also a good way to monitor how much your pet is eating.
