I had some spare worms that the Scrub Jay didn't want during the filming of that documentary, so rather than letting them go to waste I decided to give them to a hungry-looking Western Fence Lizard instead which I could see was coveting the worms from nerby. These three clips show his feeding technique. I syspect that the initial thrashing is to kill the prey and/or shake-off all the dirt and debris before gobbling it down.
Filmed with a Casio Exilim EX-F1 Pro high speed camera at 300fps.
