Agama Lizards in front of Maasai Mara West restaurant. We stayed at Maasai Mara West for four nights and did a two day Safari in the days in the middle. It was amazing! I filmed this one morning waiting for our Safari to begin.

If you listen in the background you can hear some local Maasai Safari guides talking. They are probably speaking Maasai but may be speaking Swahili... Anyone recongize the langauge?

Agama lizards are among the most common reptiles encountered on the Serengeti plains. With their bright red and blue coloration, the red-headed and Mwanza rock agamas are often referred to as the “Spider man agamas.”

Agamas are highly polygynous and one male will mate with many females. Males are larger than females and considerably more colorful. Males are highly territorial, engaging in ritualistic head-bobbing behavior to defend their space, which is typically shared with up to six adult females.
