Komodo Dragons Mating: Trip to Rinca Island, Indonesia, 2011

An early September, 2011 trip to the Komodo islands to see the famous giant monitor lizards that are native to this area is notable for finding some of these reptiles mating. Also seen are other forms of wildlife, including long-tailed Macaques, wild pigs (non-native to this area), and wild Asiatic buffalo (also non-native to this area). The native deer species upon which the Komodo Dragons prey is, regrettably, not seen on this venture.
