Donkeys need grooming too! Not as much as horses but they still need it. It's also a great way to bond and build the relationship so donkey training will go easier!
If you are going to ride or drive your donkey he will need more grooming so that pieces of dirt will not be pushed into the skin. An uncomfortable donkey will not drive or ride very well!
Donkeys have a very different coat from horses. It's longer and more course. They also hold more dust in their coats than horses do. Their skin is different too. It doesn't contain the oils that horse skin does.
In this video, I show Jasper who is extremely dirty with caked-on mud from all-out winter rains. I get him mud-free in no time though!
