Bluebird Lane Fjords presents a two-part video tutorial on how to cut a Fjord Horse mane. We get a lot of inquiries on the correct way to cut the Fjord mane so we produced this video to help.
Fjord manes are traditionally groomed to stand upright which enhances the appearance of the neck and draws attention to the black stripe which runs through the white hairs of the mane. We think it is important to keep every Fjordhorse's mane groomed in this traditional way. The mane should be trimmed every 4 to 5 weeks.
In this video, Stefan exhibits our technique using the mare Bocina as a model.
