9 Tips to a Beautiful Tail...
1) Keep Male horses Sheaths clean and Female horses udders/teats clean
2) Using the right products and how you care for their tails in between baths
3) Feeding them what they need to grow healthy hair (hay, grains, oils, vitamins, minerals, supplements)
4) Keep their legs dry and clean
5) De-Worm them
6) Pay attention where you use your products and how MUCH you use
7) Keep their tails clean and wash them every 7-14 days during warmer weather
8) Climate plays a factor too... whether it's dry or humid, so learn what you need to make your horse's tail feel comfortable
9) It also makes a difference on how you care for their tails if they are kept in a stall compared to a pasture
These are some of my recent tips to get my horse to stop rubbing his tail so it can grow long and thick. It's really a combination of everything together and taking care of your horse from all angles. I've known some of these things for awhile... and some, I've just learned over the last few months. I've been on a mission to find out why horses rub their tails and have found these tips along my journey. They've really helped me alot recently with my horses and I hope they help you too.
