Washing and keeping your horse's tail clean is a big part of having a long, thick, and healthy horse tail.
When your horse's tail gets dirty... it also gets dry... and when the tail is dry... it makes your horse's tail itchy and THAT makes him/her want to rub. Rubbing causes loss of tail hairs and will make your horse's tail thinner and can even create a bald tail in places if he/she rubs too often. Those hairs will have to grow back in order for your horses tail to look full and thick. I heard it takes as long as 2 years for a horse to grow a hair back after it has lost it. That's a long time! So let's learn together, how to keep them from rubbing and losing their tail hairs.

I love love love Lucky Braids Shampoo. It makes their tails feel soft and floaty. It'a an All-In-One shampoo for horses and you can use it on their tails, manes, body, sheaths, scratches, etc.

Also the bucket I put his alfalfa pellets in was a hook over bucket that hooks over a gate or fence... I love these and use them for their feedings too. You can find them here... http://amzn.to/2wJ70dR or you might find them at your feed store. Either way... they are my favorites for feeding their grain in.
