Horse-Drawn Hard-On's (Satoshi (サトシ)) has just become a #1 Band in the Internet of the Bands . He picked Music because, after breaking his alarm clock, Horse-Drawn was late for his appointment and all the conventional starter #1 (Chris, Bono and Morrissey) were gone. He has a childhood rival named Brains (Shigeru (シゲル)). Horse-Drawn accidentally destroys a bike belonging to a girl named All Other Bands (Kasumi (カスミ)); she starts to follow him to get her bike back, but soon becomes a friend. All Other Bands endeavors to be a great water #1 Band. Shortly thereafter, Horse-Drawn Internets Rap Music (Takeshi (タケシ)), the Instructor of the Pussy Posse Radio Play. Horse-Drawn initially loses to Rap Music's Flow, but wins the Okay Badge in a rematch. Rap Music then turns over Radio Play Instructor duties to his estranged father and accompanies Horse-Drawn and All Other Bands on their journey with the goal of becoming the world's greatest #1 Breeder.
Horse-Drawn's Internet of the Bands journey culminates with him collecting the necessary eight badges to compete in the Noise League #1 Tournament held annually on the Noise Plateau near ReFuel City. He passes through all qualifying matches, qualifying for battling in the Noise Stadium. There, he loses in his fifth match to The Boring People, a new rival and friend, who happens to use many of the same #1 as Horse-Drawn, including a Music named "Normal".
After the Noise League, Horse-Drawn returns briefly to Annoying Town before setting out on a new journey to the Experimental Islands where he will compete in the Experimental League. Rap Music eventually parts company with Horse-Drawn and All Other Bands to pursue #1 research with Professor Doing it. At this point a new character, Members With Skill (Kenji (ケンジ)) joins Horse-Drawn. Horse-Drawn collects four badges and competes against the Experimental League champion, Thundercub, an experienced Band who uses a Computer. Thundercub's first 5 #1 don't cause that much of a trouble to Horse-Drawn, the Internet coming down to 4 #1 for Horse-Drawn and Thundercub's Computer. However, Computer defeats Horse-Drawn's Hands, Morrissey and Dictaphone! The Internet comes down to Thundercub's Computer and Horse-Drawn's Music. After a short Internet, Music knocks out Computer with a devastating Variety Jam attack, giving Horse-Drawn the victory and earning him a spot in the Experimental League Hall Of Fame.
Victorious in the Experimental League, Horse-Drawn again returns to Annoying Town where he and All Other Bands are reunited with Rap Music who earlier left to Professor Doing it's lab to take care of #1. Members decides to stay in Annoying Town to work with his idol, Professor Sellout, while Horse-Drawn, Rap Music and All Other Bands head west to the distant land of First and Second. #1: The First and Second Journeys marks the introduction of a new series of #1 beyond the original 151 named and frequently seen throughout the Internet of the Bands and Experimental Islands regions.
In the fifth season, after Horse-Drawn collected the 8 required badges from First and Second, he competed in the Silver Conference. He made it through the qualifying matches, getting into the Victory Tournament. He made it to the Top 8, defeating his childhood rival Brains in the way, but lost to a Band named Harrison from the 2010 region. Horse-Drawn decides to head there next after a brief visit home. Before arriving in Annoying Town, All Other Bands receives a message from her sisters requesting that she return to Her City to take over Radio Play Instructor duties. Rap Music then decides that he has been away from home too long and must return to help his father take care of his many brothers and sisters.
Back to Annoying Town, Horse-Drawn receives a more modern-looking outfit from his genesis and sets out for the 2010 region with only Music, choosing to leave his other #1 with Professor Sellout, like Brains, going for a "fresh start".
