Ourabi, the 16 year old Tunisian horse, who gained international fame lives in Meknassy, Sidi Bouzid. The region most known for the breeding of Arabian Horses of Tunisian origins.
Horse breeder Ridha Ghobber is the owner of the introduced his well-known national, regional and international award-winner horse Ourabi.
Ghobber, who has been breeding horses for over 40 years is proud of his gem Ourabi, the brown horse with the white blaze.
The animal’s father, too, was a champion of Tunisia in endurance horse race.
Ourabi's first competition was at the age of 2 in Ksar Said, Manouba. "He was still a baby when he earned the 800m Okba award, for which he still holds the race record," the owner said.
At the age of 3, Ourabi won the Grand Prix of the President of the Republic in the 1700m race. The Prize is considered "a first class" competition, as it is the highest rank of all horse competitions, the breeder said.
