Half Bred Foal By RID Dam RDS 2015

Horse breeding is all about performance under the saddle with horses particularly jumping. That is why many Irish Draught Horse Breeders choose to breed half bred horses bringing their mares to Thoroughbreds and Sports Horses. We brought Blackmoor Silver Mist to Puissance and Bred Blackmoor Heather who is now successfully showjumping. Many successful showjumpers are also bred by bringing a thoroughbred or sports horse mare to a Registered Irish Draught Stallion a good example of this would be Cruising who was a very successful showjumper and a very successful sire. There is normally a good market for sports horses and the market is not as cyclical as breeding pure Bred Irish Draught Horses which can go in and out of fashion. But Irish Draught Horses can be good performers in their own right a good example being Coille Mor Hill who many grand prixs when he was being competed at show jumping.

The Horses Featured in the class are both filly foals by thoroughbred Stallions
