If you want to see the mares of the future in the Irish Draught World then the RID Filly Foal class is one of the best places to see them. The best horses in Ireland tend to be shown at the RDS Dublin Horse Show and the Irish Draught classes are no exception. While there were only 4 foals in the class the standard was very high. The Irish Draught and the Connemara are foundation breeds in Irish Horse breeding. Irish Draught horses are considered good hunters and when crossed with thoroughbred produce sports horses. While there are not prominent in Irish breeding as they used to be they are still important. Cruising Sire was an Irish Draught stallion called Sea Crest. Clover Hill also produced many top showjumpers. I suspect there probably is some very good Irish draught horses out there still waiting for someone to discover themDescription
