Meet my little Gumdrop:
She is under a year old with a sapphire coloration, also known as a winter white hamster. Her lifespan is 1-3 years and has been at Petco for 6+ months and growing older. When i saw her several months later, i had to get her. She was the last of her litter and no one wanted her. Since they don't live very long unlike other types of hamsters, this is why i took her home.
My last hamster was an adoption but with Gumdrop here i did buy her. No shame in that, however i won't be purchasing animals from big chain petstores after her. Only rescuing and adopting.
Her bin was a 360 sq inch bin. I don't remember exact measurements but for the minimum standard in the US at the time of filming was 360 sq inch. She has since passed away and this size bin is no longer used by me as a hamster home.
Comments have returned to this video after previously disabling them. Please ask questions that haven't already been answered, HOWEVER DO NOTE this was filmed in 2013 and is outdated. I've learned a lot more about hamsters than i did in 2013 and the bedding was later switched to paper after doing my own research. This was filmed on the day i brought her home, much has changed since then and the shavings used were ASPEN, not pine or cedar. Thank you. :)
