How to sex your hamster

This is just a short video on how to tell the gender of your baby hamster. This is about the best time to tell if they are girls or boys because their heir is so short. Though if they have a dark belly it is a a bit harder to see the nipples. Use a flashlight to check dark haired hamsters. Obviously, you can't take them from the mother, but it is kinda fun to see what you have. I don't take my hamsters away from their mother till 21 days. At least I take the boys, but sometimes the mother will then go into heat then, and then will be more interested in mating then taking care of the girls. So to make the hamster girls are safe I take them out if the mother is no longer interested in feeding or taking care of them after an hour and a half. Though if you have juvenile hamster I won't be showing that for about 4 weeks. So when the pup I choose is 6 weeks old (which 6 to 8 weeks of age is normally the age you buy them from the pet store at) then you will know what a female looks like at that age.
