In this video by http://russiandwarfhamster.org/russian-dwarf-hamster-babies/ watch our beautiful baby Russian Dwarf Hamsters grow and develop.

The mother had 6 babies which turned out to be 3 males and females. In this video you watch them grow from a young age of 2 days to 6 weeks old. Russian Dwarf Hamster Babies are born blind and without hair and look pink/red. Any Russian dwarf hamster mother can have up to 8 babies and either sex. After one and a half weeks the babies began to grow hair on and around their bodies and start to move around more.

The mother hamster would feed them milk from her nips and provide for them until they are ready to leave the nest. We didn't touch them or the mother until they were almost 3 weeks and playing away from the nest. This is because the mother can neglect or kill a baby that has a scent from another male or species. We also separated the father to stop more babies being produced within 24 hours of birth of the new born dwarf hamsters.

The Russian Dwarf Babys diet was milk from the mother and we made sure to keep her water, food and additional once a week vegetables up to date. The babies starting nibbling a mixture of dried fruits and normal hamster food around 3 weeks. These Russian dwarf hamsters are Campbells babies and the mother and father are Campbells.

These really cute Russian dwarf hamster babies were handled daily and are very tame, friendly and never bite. We looked after these to the best we could and when we handed them over to the pet store they said "These are the most friendliest and tame dwarf hamster we have ever had, you looked after them well".

It really was sad to see these three male and three female Russian dwarf hamsters babies go but we are sure they went to great homes. Please see our website to tame Russian Dwarf Hamsters.
