Hamster Corndog Feeding Pups

This video was shot on 8-19-08 around 8:15 pm central time. The mother is feeding her 6 pups. We had her for 6 weeks. We didn't realize she had previously been used for breeding purposes and that she was too old to give birth easily anymore. She suffered complications from the birth, and held on for around 2 weeks, just long enough for the pups to fend for themselves when she died on 8-22-08. Her name was Corndog.

The pups are doing fine, even the little runt. They're all dwarf hamsters, a breed called Roborovski.

The reason I shot this video is because Corndog had a patch of skin under her head where fur wouldn't grow. After seeing this, I realized it was because her previous litters had tried to suckle on her neck until it scarred over. That's one thing that led us to the conclusion that she had been a mother many times over at PetCo. before we bought her.
