Guinea Pig Laptime: Useful Tips on Taming and Bonding With Your Piggies!

Laptime is a fantastic way to bond with your guinea pigs and get them to learn they can trust you. Here's a summary of the video and my tips for getting the most out of laptime:

* Laptime should last 10-15 minutes at first, it can be longer when they are more tame but watch out for toilet related accidents!
* Try spare some time for laptime 2-3 times a week, more if you can!
* Don't forget it's also a great way for us to chill out and take a mini break from our hectic lives!
* For your setup, experiment with what works best, I like to use a waterproof pad, cuddle cups and a fleece cover to drape over.

* Offer food (fresh vegetables work best!) to gain their trust!
* If they want to burrow in the fleece and hide away, let them do this, you can stroke them whilst they are hiding away or try uncover their head if they will allow it!
* If you are just starting out with laptime, go to a quiet room away from other people and pets. If you have a TV on keeping the volume down low. As they get more used to you and the sound of the TV they will sit happily on your lap as you watch TV.
* It will help to stroke them gentle and talk soothingly to them.

Keep this up and one day you will have piggies flopped out on your lap happily snoozing away! I hope you enjoyed the video!
